The Recruiting Director, also referred to as the Recruiting Manager, manages and leads the recruitment process and the overall utilization of the recruiters in a company. This overall utilization includes the responsibility of overseeing the entire recruitment process done by each recruiter and the implementations occurring though each step. If any issues arise, the Recruiting Director is responsible in managing and solving all issues. During the recruitment process, a job vacancy is presented to the recruiters with their ideal candidate for the position. The recruiters must then find qualified candidates to be submitted to interview for that position. The director will oversee the process and if there is any trouble finding qualified candidates, the Recruiting Director is responsible for communicating this with upper management, the sales teams, and the client in need of filling their job vacancies.

The Recruiting Director is responsible for properly designing, implementing and managing the recruitment process by setting standards and goals that are measurable. By having a system in place, the director can oversee each individual recruiter’s numbers and determine if they are performing up to standards. These systems typically include daily call logs, call time, detailed notes on each candidate, daily candidate submissions to an open position, meetings logged with candidates to ensure they are truly vetted for their skills, and how many candidates become hired. These numbers are crucial for a successful recruitment team and the Recruiting Director is responsible for ensuring their team has high numbers. If their team is failing, the Recruiting Director is responsible for their failure. Since the success of the team falls on this position, the director is responsible for hiring the recruitment team under them and must ensure they design a selection matrix that helps choose the optimum recruiter every time.

Another responsibility includes setting the social media communication strategy across all company platforms when looking to hire different job profiles and functions within the organization. They are then responsible for interview selection and hiring. Recruiting Directors must also be compliant to labor legislations to fully understand the hiring and firing process as well as designing processes and being a liaison between the recruiters and upper management.
