  • Conduct presentations with the NCAA SSRE to the Divisions I, II and III conference coordinators of umpires, outlining the new rules, points of emphasis, mechanics and other umpiring matters as part of the annual coordinators of umpires meeting
  • Work in collaboration with the NCAA SSRE to develop the annual eligibility exam and in-season quizzes for posting on the NCAA ArbiterSports SUP website
  • Evaluate performance of umpires during the regular-season via television or DVD’s
  • Conduct in-person evaluations and schedule travel during the regular-season to successfully engage in dialogue with the members of the softball community
  • Develop educational and video content for posting on the NCAA ArbiterSports SUP website throughout the year with approval from NCAA staff
  • Oversee the regional advisory program, which includes conducting regularly scheduled teleconferences, communication through the NCAA ArbiterSports SUP website and in-person meetings with the group
  • Serve as primary mechanics liaison and assist in the annual editing of the CCA Softball Umpires Manual
  • Conduct joint teleconferences with the NCAA SSRE and selected media partners to outline rules changes, points of emphasis and other umpiring matters as requested and approved by the NCAA staff
  • Conduct in-season teleconferences with the conference coordinators of umpires and Division I staff, inclusive of the NCAA SSRE and NCAA Playing Rules Administrator assigned to softball
  • Participate in teleconferences and in-person meetings as an ex-officio member of the NCAA Softball Rules Committee
  • Conduct teleconference with umpire evaluators selected to work the NCAA championship in conjunction with the NCAA staff
  • Conduct teleconferences with umpires selected to work the NCAA championship in conjunction with NCAA staff
  • Conduct presentations for the National Fastpitch Coaches Association membership on various umpiring matters as requested and approved by Division I director
  • Attend in-person meetings throughout the year (e.g., Division I Softball Committee meetings, Softball Rules Committee meeting as requested)
  • Develop mechanics questions for the annual rules survey to be submitted to the NCAA Playing Rules Administrator
  • Cannot be an active NCAA coach, official, or conference coordinator/assignor
  • Perform other duties as assigned by NCAA staff and/or the NCAA Softball Committees
