The Transmission Line & Civil Design Manager is responsible for ensuring the quality and timeliness of all transmission line design projects for Southern Company including field support of all construction activities, and for the timely, thorough support of all unplanned and emergency requests
Civil designs and services for both transmission line and substation design projects
Leading design activities and services supporting the operating companies’ capital investments of hundreds of millions of dollars annually
Supporting transmission line & substation field operations including support of construction crews, maintenance crews, materials procurement, and other technical expertise for both normal construction and emergency restoration activities
Support OPCO project management and construction activities to ensure successful projects
Support continuous improvement of transmission line and civil standards, design criteria, processes, and tools
Provide excellent transmission line & substation construction, operations, and maintenance support
Maintain all transmission line & civil design prints, records, data, and other supporting information
Team effectively across SCST and the operating companies, supporting initiatives as assigned
A BS degree in Engineering (Civil, Electrical, or Mechanical is preferred)
A Professional Engineering license is preferred
