  • Advise and guide employees in effective performance and to resolve work-related issues
  • Train employees in the operation of a wide variety of heavy and light equipment, to handle materials safely and to conduct maintenance activities consistent with agency policies and safety practices
  • Review work of crew and provide input to TMS on employee performance
  • Assist in hiring/selection process; provide recommendations to management
  • Assist the TMS by preparing, reviewing and/or signing a variety of documents
  • Assist the TMS with short- and long-range planning and budget preparation
  • Communicate with the TMS, District Office, and Region 1 maintenance and operations manager regarding needs, problems, crew activities, etc
  • Patrol highways and structures within the section looking for potential accidents, hazards, and damages
  • A valid class A commercial driver's license and an acceptable driving record are required for this position. We will conduct pre-employment driving records checks on our final candidate(s)
  • This position has a maximum response time of 45 minutes to 620 W. Columbia River Hwy, Troutdale for emergency call-outs
