First Year Pharmacist Intern Resume Examples & Samples

  • First year students will spend time in Cancer Center for training for 2-4 weeks (longer if they need to complete their training checklist). This is assumed that the interns will be available for 35-40 hours per week in the summer time. If the intern is training during the school year, the training process will be prolonged
  • During the school year, the general expectation will be that the intern will work 8-12 hours/week, with accommodations made for students during finals with advance notice with their preceptors. Also, during the summer usually interns are available for 35-40 hours per week. Plans for breaks and vacations will need to be made in advance with the preceptor(s) – usually 60-90 days notice (especially if you are staffing)
  • Training in the operational components of pharmacy work will need to be completed or at an acceptable level prior to moving into more clinical projects. The training plan will be customized for the intern, with consideration of previous work experience
  • Interns may be asked to help cover vacation coverage (especially in the summer and over breaks) for pharmacy technicians. As well, they may be asked to help cover for sick calls in the event that per diem staff are unavailable
  • Overtime should be avoided for interns
  • During the school year, the interns will be responsible for communicating their availability
