  • Partnering with communities to promote the importance of optimal children’s oral health behaviors with educational opportunities
  • Implement a systematic evaluation and on-going surveillance of the oral health status of our children citywide
  • Bachelor's degree in related area and one to three years of relevant experience and / or equivalent experience / training
  • Knowledge of data management systems, practices and standards
  • Knowledge relating to logical data design, data warehouse design, data integration or the management of web content or other unstructured data
  • Strong analytical skills, including the ability to perform complex data analyses by creating and/or manipulating databases; conducting statistical analyses using statistical software packages abstract information requirements from real-world processes to understand information flows in computer systems
  • Strong research design skills, including designing and implementing survey and evaluation instruments, assessments and study protocols for both qualitative and quantitative data collection and analyses
  • Ability to prepare simple data models under guidance of more senior professionals
  • Familiarity with important types of data models such as logical / relational models, dimensional models and document models
  • Demonstrated effective communication and interpersonal skills. Demonstrated ability to communicate technical information to technical and non-technical personnel at various levels in the organization
  • Demonstrated problem-solving skills. Able to learn effectively and meet deadlines
  • Demonstrated service orientation skills
  • Master’s degree at an accredited college or university in Epidemiology or related file that includes a minimum of two graduate level courses in Epidemiology (or comparable classes in advanced research methodology) AND two graduate level courses in statistics or biostatistics
  • Intermediate knowledge of relevant rules and regulations
  • Experience working with claims or billing data
