Examine potential new technologies or programs for application to Laundry market segments
Maintain accurate lab notebook records and file reports for experimental work
Assignments may require the development and selection of appropriate methods, tests and procedures
Develop innovative applications and extensions of existing or new products, processes, systems or methods having major importance to the business
Ensure that proprietary project innovations are protected with proper legal instruments (e.g. patents)
Bachelor's degree in Chemistry, Biology or Biochemistry
1+ years of Ecolab R&D experience

Experience applying principles of scientific thinking to define problems, collect data, analyze potential solutions, and draw valid conclusions
Demonstrated success in working on complex, multi-function project teams
Excellent people and team building skills, interacting with a wide range of individuals and grade levels
Strong presentation skills with ability to clearly articulate technical subject matter
Ability to create innovative solutions toward key application issues for the business
Must have demonstrated initiative and ability to work independently and handle multiple tasks

Strong solid-state chemistry background, with knowledge of the drug development process to include physical and chemical stability criteria when developing an API (as salt, cocrystal, solvate, hydrate etc.) for use in toxicological or clinical studies
Preferably with some experience in applying molecular and/or quantum mechanical modelling software and tools to small organic molecules for the purpose of modifying and optimising their solid-state properties (e.g. crystal habit, physical stability, solubility)
Pharma-industry experience
Background experience in chemistry is a must. The use of computational modelling software in addition would be advantageous
Minimum of 3 years directly relevant industrial experience in solid form selection and the concurrent use of modelling simulation methods to assess, and thus affect, the physical properties of small organic molecules, preferably active pharmaceutical ingredients would be advantageous
Experience in crystallography, crystal engineering, material science or polymorphism would be advantageous
¨Strong and up-to-date scientific background, with experience in leading other scientists
