  • To develop, maintain, improve and use new and existing primarily Excel-based modelling tools used in the delivery of waste management related projects (in some instances other modelling platforms may be used)
  • Undertake data gathering and research from a range of sources, analysing, critiquing, formatting and validating for use in modelling and other applications to support waste management projects
  • To prepare modelling and analysis outputs to a high level of quality assurance for use in project reports, presentations etc. focussing on clarity and simplicity of presentation a range of technical and non-technical audiences
  • Support the evaluation of bidders service proposals in a procurement context, using robust evidence and well-reasoned written arguments to underpin operational and financial assessments
  • Develop efficient methodologies to solve problems and communicate these clearly and concisely through contributions to proposals for new work and project progression

  • A background in mathematics and / or previous data modelling experience
  • Experience of developing and / or updating data models with a high level of proficiency in the use of Microsoft Excel
  • A methodical approach to problem solving and a high level of attention to detail, including the ability to check calculations and models developed by colleagues
  • Good time management skills, including the ability to respond to requests for outputs at short notice. An ability to innovate and tailor solutions to meet evolving requirements is therefore critical to the role
  • Excellent organisational and interpersonal skills, including preparation of technical reports and the ability to engage in active verbal and written communications with colleagues, clients and supply chain contractors
  • Able to understand and rapidly adapt to differing working procedures as required by individual clients; and

  • Experience of working within a technical consultancy environment or within a client organisation involving direct contact with consultants or consultancy projects
  • First degree in a relevant subject, expected to be in the field of science, mathematics or engineering
  • Extensive Excel experience, demonstrated through work experience or academic training
  • UK driving licence
  • VBA experience, demonstrated through work experience or academic training
