He earned dual degrees, a Bachelor of Science and a Bachelor of Arts, from the University of California, followed by an MBA from the University of Colorado's Locke School. His academic journey helped shape a balanced perspective between strategic management and hands-on problem-solving, which would later define his leadership approach in the business world.

Steve’s early career was rooted in the specialty beverage sector, where he gained deep experience across production, operations, marketing, and distribution. His understanding of each stage of the process allowed him to build a reputation for quality, consistency, and operational efficiency. Over the years, he developed a passion for creating functional beverages designed for health-conscious consumers seeking natural and organic products.

He has supported more than 45 U.S. and European companies in developing and marketing functional and organic beverages. Steve’s leadership style has consistently been characterized by directness and collaboration. He believes in working closely with production teams and overseeing operations personally to ensure high standards are met. His hands-on approach has guided many start-ups to achieve sustainable success in competitive markets.

Founding WaterBox LLC

Recognizing the urgent need for eco-friendly beverage solutions, Steve Weymer founded WaterBox LLC, headquartered in Columbus, Georgia. WaterBox produces environmentally responsible beverages packaged in innovative liquid paperboard cartons. These cartons, made primarily from pressed paper with minimal recyclable plastic components, reduce plastic waste and energy consumption compared to traditional bottles.

WaterBox’s mission is rooted in environmental care and responsible sourcing. The company operates production facilities in Northern California, Southwest Utah, Northwest Georgia, and central Pennsylvania, each sourcing water from nearby mountain springs. This localized production model helps reduce carbon emissions and supports regional economies, while each carton clearly identifies its water source to maintain consumer trust and transparency.

His formulations are sold in well-known natural food retailers, including Whole Foods, Wild Oats, Sprouts, and Jimbo’s. His leadership is grounded in humility, practicality, and a focus on continuous improvement.

Outside of business, Steve dedicates time to environmental and charitable initiatives. As a member of the Surfrider Foundation, he supports ocean conservation and efforts to reduce plastic pollution. He has shared his expertise on sustainability at the Scripps Institute of Oceanography in La Jolla, California. His community work also includes supporting Catholic Charities, Wounded Warriors, and Towers to Tunnels.
