Summary

Stephen Monro is an attorney in Washington State with decades of experience in law, construction, and real estate. He founded the Monro Law Firm and Platinum Law Group and is admitted to practice in all Washington State Courts, including the Western and Eastern District Federal Courts. In addition to his legal practice, he holds licenses as a general contractor, real estate broker, and IRS tax preparer. For more than 25 years, he has also offered pro bono legal services, representing individuals who could not otherwise secure legal help. His work covers a wide range of matters, including civil litigation, personal injury, and property law.

He was born in Seattle, Washington, in 1952. After completing his early education, he attended Central Washington University, where he earned a Bachelor of Arts degree. He later earned a Juris Doctor degree from City University in Los Angeles and continued his academic journey by completing a Master of Business Administration from the Same Institution.

Before beginning his legal career, he served in the United States Marine Corps during the Vietnam era. His service taught him discipline, leadership, and the ability to remain calm under pressure—qualities that became an essential part of his professional life.

He began practicing law in 1996 and has since represented clients throughout Washington in both state and federal courts. Over the years, his practice has operated under several names, including the Law Office of Stephen K. Monro, the Monro Law Firm, and Platinum Law Group. He is also active in the Washington State Bar Association, the Washington State Association for Justice, and the American Association for Justice.

His work as a general contractor provides him with firsthand knowledge of construction projects, contracts, and property-related issues. His license as a real estate broker offers additional insight into transactions, disclosures, and agreements. Together, these skills enable him to approach client matters with a comprehensive understanding of both the legal and practical aspects of the matter. He also offers mediation services, resolving most cases efficiently and fairly.

Outside of his profession, he enjoys fishing, camping, and traveling by RV. He also raises horses, including rescues, and values wildlife preservation and land stewardship. With nearly 50 years of marriage, family remains at the center of his life.

Throughout his career in law, construction, real estate, and service, Stephen Monro has established a path marked by dedication and responsibility.
