Summary

I want to tell stories that matter, whether that's through film, TV, new media, or finding and telling the core narratives for organizations which are changing the world for the better. I am equally comfortable managing projects with many moving parts, speaking with folks from the board room to the front lines, carrying a boom and mixer, chasing stories through light and sound, or spending hours in an editing bay. It's the story that drives what I do.

My motivation is not a title and a fancy office. Instead, I want to know that my work, whatever I'm doing, will have a real and positive effect on someone who needs it. That effect could be making knowledge available to anyone interested, providing entertainment for someone after a long day of work, shifting the Overton window towards fairness and equity, or telling the stories of the organizations and individuals working to help those who need it most.

Experience

2015 Jun - 2018 Jun
Producer / Host
Ready To Go Shows Network / Oklahoma City, OK

Ready To Go Shows Network was a podcasting and multimedia production company. I co-hosted and produced the Ready To Go Patio Show, researched new podcasting opportunities, arranged interviews and on-location recording, served as the production sound mixer, edited audio and video, and managed all marketing and outreach efforts. In 3 years, I grew the Ready To Go Patio Show audience from less than 10 listeners in the first month to more than 300 unique listeners per day.

My typical workflow on the Ready To Go Patio Show involved a pre-production meeting with my co-host to decide where the next review will take place and set the date of the review. When arriving on-site for the review, we would photograph the surroundings, food, and anything else relevant, then write out notes and scoring based on pre-determined criteria. Next, The shows were recorded in a home studio, performed in a single-take, improvisational style, and later edited for length and clarity. Final publication involved writing blurbs and editing photos to use in a variety of web and social media posts for engaging potential audience members.

The final project for the network was writing and pre-production on a period television drama set in pre-statehood Oklahoma City. The decision was made to shelve the project before the pilot was completed.

My main role was that of regional team lead, administering and executing Tier 2 & Tier 3 I.T. support for 74 locations with 1200+ clients across the central and eastern U.S. The duties in that role included business needs and capacity planning, problem diagnosis, disaster recovery, desktop administration, and user education. Significant projects included system-wide rollouts of Windows XP, Windows 2000, and Windows 7, system integration of newly acquired businesses, and the client-side move from a custom 3270- and 5250-emulation based enterprise management system to a Windows-based JD Edwards ERP/CRM/inventory management system .

As a team leader, I conducted interviews of job candidates, then provided training and mentorship to junior technicians. As the primary point of support contact for the region, I collaborated with management and user communities across all business units to define technology needs and implement usable real-world solutions.
