Safwan Sobhan

Safwan Sobhan is the Founder and Chairman of Safwan Bashundhara Global. He is an entrepreneur and investor whose work has supported economic growth through job creation and the promotion of innovation. His consistent work ethic and apparent problem-solving ability have guided his progress over the last 15 years.

His practical approach to addressing challenges has led the business to expand into more than 25 ventures across various sectors, including business, industry, maritime, and manufacturing. He has promoted a sustainable business model that considers the protection of people and the environment as part of its goals while maintaining a strong focus on profitability. His leadership has earned him the Ten Outstanding Young Persons (TOYP) of Bangladesh award, as well as other recognitions for his contributions.

Sobhan was born in Bangladesh and spent part of his early years in the UK, where he attended Shiplake College in Oxfordshire, a boarding school known for its focus on personal development and student care. In 2007, he completed his Bachelor of Business Administration degree with a concentration in International Business at American Intercontinental University.

As the founder of Safwan Bashundhara Global, he has led the company into new markets and product areas. He is known for his straightforward leadership style, applying strategies that help achieve company goals while strengthening operational performance. He communicates objectives to management teams, oversees financial results, and ensures the organization follows its operating budgets.

Sobhan has also guided the organization to focus on social responsibility, supporting initiatives that lowered tuition for meritorious students at Bashundhara Ad-Din Medical College and reduced delivery costs for pregnant women, helping many families gain access to affordable healthcare services.

His commitment to strategic planning and operational management has earned him recognition as an innovative leader within the industry. He encourages continuous improvement in internal processes and creates clear workflows that align with business objectives. Under his guidance, the Bashundhara Group has implemented modern production practices, automated management systems, and efficient supply chains to improve overall performance.

He has received multiple awards for his work in business and contributions to society. In 2020, he was honored with the Ten Outstanding Young Persons (TOYP) of Bangladesh award for his contributions to the nation’s economic growth. In 2022, he received the Global Leader of the Year award, presented at an event attended by leaders, diplomats, investors, and dignitaries. He has also been recognized as the highest taxpayer in the young category for his contribution to national financial development and was named a “Commercially Important Person (CIP)” for his role in the industrial sector.
