Summary

I, Saeed a Swedish citizen and NVH engineering professional, I have extensive experience in NVH (Noise Vibration and Harshness) testing; benchmarking, analysis, and CAE coordination.

Here I can tell a bit about my expertise, that I have many years’ experience in Sound and Vibration testing & analysis, project and team management, and training new engineers in the world’s No.1 OEMs. I started my career as an NVH test engineer and did vehicle refinement and benchmarking projects at Jaguar, later worked as CAE NVH Engineer, and played a key role as a coordinator between CAE and test departments at Ford UK. I have worked for ThyssenKrupp Presta and did NVH testing of Electric Power Steering System (EPS - having Electric motor, bearings, and gear) on tracks and roller test benches. Later, I worked as a Project Vibration Engineer for Rolls-Royce Aero-Engines UK, where I had to look after around 6-10 engineers testing work and manage the testing of aero-engine blades, and to deal with global customers. I have also worked for CSA testing Group UK (Millbrook now), to do vehicle and powertrain NVH benchmarking. One of my jobs was with CEVT/Geely Sweden through an agency in the UK, as NVH Attribute Leader to take care of NVH Attributes and to provide analysis/reports/presentations to top hats and suggest design team to improve NVH of the future car. I have just finished my contract working as an NVH Engineering consultant in the cost reduction department of the Nissan group of Europe UK, now working as a freelancer on different projects for academics and industry.

NVH Engineer
Nissan Technical Centre Europe / Cranfield
  • Responsible for the testing and analysis of test data and issuing reports
  • Conducting/suggesting system part/components and vehicle tests to measure objective data, assess subjectively and verify NVH performance against agreed program targets
  • Investigation of NVH concerns and development of countermeasures in close collaboration with design group
  • Evaluating cost reduction items, investigating alternative cheap parts, and validate parts with NVH tests so not to affect the NVH performance of the new designed vehicles
  • Solving technical NVH issues through formulating test plans, analyzing NVH data & developing optimized NVH countermeasures.
  • Making presentations to negotiate necessary changes with other Performance Test Departments, Design Functions, and Program Management teams focusing cost reduction
  • Test planning to provide direction to insure that technician team has clear information & resources to complete testing on time.
  • Creating test reports to document key development work output and next actions.
  • Supporting quality investigations and countermeasure development
2015 Nov - 2016 Oct
Attribute Leader NVH
CEVT Geely / Gothenburg, Sweden
  • Responsible for CS11 project Upper Body from Concept phase to ready product for NVH and Solidity, resolving issues with other attributes like, safety, agronomics, economy, weight, and fuel consumption etc.
  • Achieving a correctly balanced NVH performance, for final product that corresponds to the market and technical specifications, and targets
  • Communicating defined requirements by breaking them down to measurable values as technical input to Design and CAE Engineering departments
  • Supporting development of specifications, concept selections and supplier evaluations
  • Taking active part and initiative in finding solutions regarding NVH with other attributes
  • Tracking target fulfillment throughout the development process of CAE
  • Leading work from status setting and root cause identification to solution proposal and design modification solving NVH issue without influencing other attributes
2015 Feb - 2015 Oct
NVH Engineer

Main tasks:

  • Scheduling/ planning/proposing vibration tests and managing a team of 4-8 test engineers
  • Managing/budgeting vibration & fatigue tests for aero engines & engine blades
  • Correlating test results with FE models, analyzing and presenting results and reports
  • Correlating or checking FE models together with stress engineers to provide data to test houses and give target lines to test engineers for blades and vanes.
  • Supervising tests and test plans and reporting to in house or external customer
  • Collecting raw data, processing and getting final results in Excel made tools
  • Data processing and analyzing FRFs/FFT of aero-engines and vibration fatigue HCF on high pressure compressor blades and vane
  • Analyzing Aero Engine test data using HGL, checking if vibration occurs then suggesting reducing excitation source, adding mechanical damping or changing blade’s dynamic behavior if possible,. (simply looking to reduce Excitation frequency/changing Rotor Speed so to not match with natural frequency of the system)
2009 Aug - 2011 Jan
Acoustic Engineer
