His leadership has consistently emphasized strategic planning, effective team management, and the development of systems that enable institutions to operate more efficiently while serving their communities with professionalism and care.
Alongside his professional accomplishments, Finch has maintained a lifelong commitment to faith and ministry. He joined Mt. Zion Baptist Church in Stephens, Georgia, at the age of nine and was ordained as a deacon in 1988. After moving to Jacksonville, Florida, in 1996, he continued his service at Shiloh Metropolitan Baptist Church. In 2009, he answered his call to preach the Gospel. With guidance from Rev. Abraham Mosley, he served as an associate pastor before accepting the call to lead Billups Grove Baptist Church in Athens, Georgia, in 2019.
Finch has held several influential leadership roles within healthcare administration. At Coffee Regional Medical Center in Douglas, Georgia, he served as Vice President of Human Resources and Organizational Development. He also served as Interim Executive Director at Mercy Health Center in Athens, Georgia, overseeing strategic planning, facilities operations, and financial accountability. Later, as Vice President of Human Resources and Chief Diversity Officer at Piedmont Athens Regional Medical Center, he supervised multiple departments and successfully reduced voluntary employee turnover by improving compensation reviews and strengthening workforce engagement practices.
Earlier in his career, Finch worked as a consultant with Statewide Healthcare, Inc., helping expand the organization’s operations into several Georgia cities. Beyond healthcare, he served as Coordinator for Corporate and Diversity Outreach at the Charlotte School of Law and later as President and CEO of the Boys and Girls Club of Athens, where he led program expansion and secured major funding to support youth development initiatives.
Robert Finch earned a Bachelor of Science in Criminal Justice and a Master of Business Administration from Albany State University.
