Summary
For quite some time now, I have believed that life is change and we choose whether or not to grow from its moments. There is a fair amount of courage, self-awareness, and humility required to recognize the opportunities life presents where we take that leap of faith to change, grow, and transform to become a better version of ourselves. Presently, this is exactly where I find myself – transitioning from years of leadership experiences in public education toward a new career that matches my values, affords me the opportunity to apply my experiences and skills within an entirely new environment, and provides me with greater personal meaning.
For decades, I have been committed to teaching, learning, and educational leadership, serving in the roles of science and math teacher, technology manager, assistant principal, middle school principal, director of student achievement, and director of P-20 campus development.
I am eager to apply my experiences in:
• educational leadership,
• driving change,
• leading learning,
• developing people in order to develop the organization,
• engaging in the cyclical, strategic, evidence-based process of Cycles of Continuous Improvement, and,
• establishing positive, supportive, inclusive cultures and high-performing teams.
I find there are common skills and needs across different workforce sectors such as developing people and teams, operationalizing systems, enhancing communication, planning and organizing the work – all toward cultural transformation of organizations. Organizational, group, and individual learning are at the heart of this. As I transition from years of leadership experiences in public education toward a new career that matches my values, affords me the opportunity to apply my experiences and skills in these areas within an entirely new environment, I believe I will bring fresh perspectives and value to any organization.
