Summary

Pilot Eric Weaver has logged extensive hours in seaplane operations, global Caravan Amphibian flights, and long-range Gulfstream missions for Fortune 100 corporate clients. His career began with early flying experiences in rural Pennsylvania and has since grown into international assignments across the Americas, the Caribbean, the Middle East, Asia, and South America. Today, he is regarded as a veteran business aviation pilot whose career combines specialized seaplane flying with corporate aviation missions on a global scale.

Eric’s path reflects consistent growth from grassroots aviation to advanced jet operations. Proficient in seaplanes, Caravan Amphibians, and complex corporate jets, he continues to develop his capabilities while mentoring younger aviators. His work blends instruction, demonstration flying, and corporate assignments, giving him a career defined by versatility, depth, and adaptability.

His introduction to aviation came from his family’s farm in Pennsylvania. His father and uncle kept a Cessna 170 on a closed paved road through their property, which provided Eric with access to aviation at a young age. Alongside this early exposure, he worked in agricultural partnerships, farm product sales, and direct-to-consumer food ventures. After high school, he joined Youth with a Mission, teaching English in Hong Kong before returning home to assist with family and business responsibilities. Later, he earned a degree in Business and Management Information Systems from Anderson University in Indiana, which gave him the knowledge to pursue both business and aviation goals.

After graduation, Eric and his parents purchased a 37-room lakeside resort in Florida that included a golf course, banquet space, and a restaurant. He took on responsibilities for weddings, events, and day-to-day management. During this time, his passion for aviation was renewed when a seaplane was introduced at the resort. He earned his private pilot certificate and purchased a 1954 Cessna 180 on straight floats. When the resort closed after a 2004 hurricane, Eric shifted his focus completely to aviation. Over the following years, he earned commercial, instrument, multi-engine, instructor, and multi-engine seaplane ratings.

During the Great Recession, Eric co-founded a seaplane base in Tavares, Florida, later known as America’s Seaplane City. Partnering with Ricci Rowe, he helped establish a business centered on seaplane tourism and training. As a high-time multi-engine seaplane pilot and instructor, he achieved the FAA’s highest combination of category and class ratings—ASES, AMES, ASEL, and AMEL. He has recommended more than 100 pilots for advanced ratings and built a reputation for expertise in Caravan Amphibious aircraft. He also worked as a demonstration pilot for Wipaire, the manufacturer of Caravan Amphibious floats.

By 2012, Eric expanded into corporate aviation, flying Cessna Caravans out of New York City. His assignments took him to South America, the Virgin Islands, the Bahamas, and nearly every island in the Caribbean. Between 2019 and 2024, he worked for a VVIP client in the New York area, during which he earned a Gulfstream 550 type rating. He has since advanced to operating both G550 and G600 aircraft for a Fortune 100 company, conducting long-range international missions across the Middle East, Asia, and South America. These responsibilities require precision, planning, and adaptability. In addition to his corporate work, Eric continues mentoring pilots and is pursuing FAA authorization to serve as a Designated Examiner.

Eric has also contributed beyond the cockpit. He has held leadership roles as Director of Operations and Chief Pilot for Part 135 operators, helped develop a seaplane program at the Vermont Flight Academy, and taken part in industry outreach efforts. His volunteer work includes flights for the EAA Young Eagles, Make-A-Wish, and Angel Flight, as well as support for the Seaplane Pilots Association. His career has even extended to film, with a credited role in The Rum Diary, where he piloted a twin-engine seaplane.

From his earliest flying on a Pennsylvania farm with a Cessna 170 to global missions in Gulfstream aircraft for Fortune 100 corporate clients, Eric Weaver’s career reflects steady growth, commitment, and broad experience. His professional path brings together seaplane expertise, corporate aviation, instruction, and outreach. Today, he continues to balance international operations with mentoring, contributing both to his profession and to the future of aviation.
