Directed a creative team of three people focused on
promoting Museum programs and initiatives ensuring
alignment with organizational mission, objectives, and business development strategies.

  • Developed and implemented comprehensive
    communication strategy to encourage the successful
    consolidation of two museums operating at three separate campuses in Richmond and Appomattox, VA.
  • Counseled management team and staff during public
    controversies regarding Confederate flags and monuments. Oversaw development of topical communication outlets
    including a website, blog, readers guide, and social media posts. Managed responses to more than 150 inquiries and
    interview requests from local, national, and international
    media during a two-week period.
  • Based on internal and external surveys, developed
    strategic communication plans focused on increased
    organizational awareness, visitation, and financial support.
  • Collaborated with Visitor Services and Education managers to develop and implement new ticketing structure and
    product offerings for Museum visitors.
  • Initiated and managed a new brand strategy including core values and brand positioning aligned with the Museum’s
    mission and business objectives.
  • Managed the development of a new visual identity and
    standards. Projects included a new logo, style guide,
    printed collateral, and signage at three museums.
    Collaborated with City of Richmond, National Park
    Service, and Appomattox County on development of new
    directional signage for Museum sites.
