Manage and supervise the accurate processing of 12 monthly Salaries and Wages (Hourly) payrolls for 6 companies/divisions within Treger Group with a headcount of +/- 4000 employees using Paywell Payroll system

 Plan, control, coordinate and monitor the distribution of payroll work activities across 7 payroll team members and ensure that it is evenly distributed and tracked to completion as scheduled

 Check and review all received paperwork for errors, omissions, and inconsistencies for data integrity before any data is loaded in the payroll system for processing (i.e. Leave, new starters, terminations, transfers, salary increases, promotions, garnishees, benefits, job positions, over-time, and other payroll-related services, etc.)

 Coordinate efforts between Payroll, Human Resources, IT, Finance and other departments for any payroll input, payroll or time and attendance system changes/updates to ensure a proper flow of payroll data

 Reconcile all earnings and deductions and review the output of all payrolls by checking figures and calculations to ensure accuracy, correctness, completeness, and compliance with the standard norms and procedures before payroll sign-off

 Create, consolidate and submit the bank interface export file to the Group Treasury for payment

 Develops and maintain payroll processes, guidelines and Standard Operating procedures with key stakeholders to ensure sound internal control systems, efficiency, and alignment with national and global standards

 Identify and establish auditing practices and procedures in partnership with the Internal Audit team to ensure proper financial control and segregation of duties between data entry, review and posting

 Ensure that all payroll activities are posted to the general ledger, including all inter-company transactions

 Reconcile the group's Salary Control accounts in line with group policy and accounting requirements

 Provide leadership, training, development, performance management, technical guidance on workload, priorities, assignments, time management, job evaluations, appraisals and advice to the payroll team to encourage them to perform with excellence and ensure high productivity and knowledge of overall payroll processes

 Design payroll input forms /documentation for the easy collation of data before posting in the system

 Merged 10 payroll databases into 5 databases to streamline payroll processing

 Maintain professional and technical knowledge by conducting payroll-related research and/or attending payroll educational workshops, reviewing professional publications, establishing personal networks and update the payroll team with the latest payroll tools, legislation, best practices, and trends.

 Interpret company and/or group policies and government regulations for employees, management and other stakeholders as they relate to the payroll function

 Administer the group's compensation schemes (Pensions, National social security schemes, etc.)

 Perform periodic and monthly payroll backups and their safe-keeping

 Check and maintain payroll system parameters in liaison with payroll software service personnel to ensure system data integrity and compliance with all professional standards and legislative requirements

 Prepare and coordinate the department's ad hoc internal and annual external year-end financial audits

 Work closely with divisional and Group Cost and Management Accounting departments in areas of job costing

 Maintain good working relationships between payroll and other departments and ensure excellent service delivery from the payroll department to the business
