Summary

Nicole Metz spent more than thirty years building a career in human resources and talent management, but much of her life’s most meaningful work has happened beyond professional titles. Her commitment to service, family, and community has shaped the way she approaches both personal and professional responsibilities.

Born in Fairbanks, Alaska, she was raised in a family where service was a guiding principle. Her father, an Air Force officer who retired as a lieutenant colonel and later worked as a marketing executive at IBM, and her mother, a nurse who transitioned from coronary care to hospice work, each demonstrated the importance of helping others through dedication and compassion.

Nicole Metz has carried that example into decades of volunteer work. She has supported youth football and lacrosse programs, timed swim meets, judged robotics and STEM competitions, taught religious education, prepared parish bulletins, and assisted with weekly collections. She also homeschooled her children, spent years creating homemade cookies for a regional women and children’s center, volunteered at soup kitchens, and organized clothing collections for service-disabled veterans.

She has also supported cancer patients by driving them to and from chemotherapy appointments, a role influenced by her own family experiences with cancer. Her mother died of ovarian cancer, and her brother passed away at a young age from cardiac complications following cancer treatment.

Nicole Metz continues to embrace caregiving as a central part of her life. She is married to Robert Metz, a United States Naval Academy and George Washington University graduate and a 100% service-disabled veteran. She also cares for her father, a disabled Vietnam-era veteran. As a mother of four, including a son on the autism spectrum, she has experienced firsthand how families adapt, grow, and prioritize when facing unique challenges.

Professionally, Nicole Metz has held leadership roles in human resources, talent development, and organizational growth across enterprise and government contracting organizations. She earned a Bachelor of Arts in Communications and Business Administration from Marymount University with honors and built a career focused on developing people and strengthening organizations.

She enjoys reading, gardening, and traveling when time permits. She was also a competitive swimmer, runner, and tennis player. Whether through her career, volunteer efforts, or family commitments, she has consistently chosen meaningful contributions over recognition, preferring to make an impact quietly and purposefully.
