In this role, he effectively managed operations and led his team to improve safety in his Precinct. By 2010, he was promoted to Captain, overseeing operations in one of the city's high-crime areas, significantly reducing crime, particularly shootings, in the 73rd Precinct.

His final assignment before retirement was as Chief of Internal Affairs, a position he held from 2022 until his retirement in 2025. In this capacity, he focused on maintaining the department’s integrity and ensuring that all officers adhered to the highest ethical standards. His work in promoting transparency and accountability further solidified his legacy.
