Michael Saquella is a multi-faceted actor and director who has worked across film, television, comedy, commercials, and live entertainment. Beginning his journey in Rochester, NY, He moved to Los Angeles, CA, with the hope of building a life in the entertainment industry. Over time, he developed a career marked by steady progress and resilience, adapting to the shifting landscape of TV and film. One of his notable early opportunities was being cast as John Belushi in the made-for-TV movie “Wired,” reflecting his commitment and focus.
Mike Saquella was selected for this project due to his performances as John Belushi in live shows such as “Legends in Concert” and “Legendary Superstars,” where he toured the United States and Canada. His skills as a blues singer and impersonator helped him stand out in a competitive field. Although the production of “Wired” was disrupted by legal issues, and the role was later assigned to another actor, he remained active and dedicated to his work.
In 2023, he took the lead role in the comedy-drama “A Conversation with a Mobster,” where he brought humor and realism to his portrayal of an Italian-American crime boss. His consistent dedication has led him to collaborate with respected actors and develop essential industry relationships. As a member of SAG-AFTRA, he has received awards for acting in both television and film and has also transitioned into directing and screenwriting.
Over nearly forty years, he has appeared in and directed numerous projects. He starred in and co-directed “El Coyote,” a film about conflicts between the Italian mob and Mexican cartels. He also wrote and directed “Carolina’s Calling,” working with established talent in the leading roles. His credits also include “Dream Round,” “Old Man Cacti,” “Desert Rose,” and “Forget About It,” highlighting his consistent involvement as an actor, writer, and director.
Michael Saquella is also known for his comedic talent and blues singing, primarily through his live performances. He established the in2itive Network to showcase his work and support other filmmakers. Away from the set, he enjoys cooking and volunteering.
