Mike Forness earned a Bachelor’s degree in Business from the University of Central Florida before pursuing a career in landscaping and construction. In 2005, he further expanded his professional qualifications by obtaining a certified state building contractor license through the Florida State Construction Licensing Board. His educational background and practical experience have helped him develop a steady, organized approach to residential landscaping projects.

In 2001, he founded Coastal Landscapes of Volusia, a company dedicated to residential landscaping services in the New Smyrna Beach area. Since starting the Business, he has worked with homeowners seeking outdoor spaces that are both functional and suited to Florida’s coastal environment. Many of his projects involve waterfront and riverfront properties, where factors such as drainage, soil conditions, and weather exposure must be carefully considered throughout the planning process.

His wife contributes to the business as office manager and marketing director, helping oversee daily operations and long-term planning for the company.

Together, they have three daughters pursuing their own educational and career goals. One is continuing her studies in nursing, another is preparing for a career in accounting, and their youngest daughter remains active in academics and competitive soccer while attending high school.
