With a desire to embrace a new challenge, Melissa transitioned from architecture to lavender farming, bringing the same passion and precision to her latest venture she had consistently demonstrated throughout her architectural career.

Melissa's educational journey includes earning a Bachelor's degree in Business Administration and a Master’s degree in Architecture from the University of Colorado. Her undergraduate studies sharpened her analytical thinking, leadership, and financial management skills, which proved invaluable in her architectural career. Her Master’s degree further enhanced her design and structural engineering capabilities, equipping her with the tools necessary for her professional achievements.

Her architectural career began to flourish soon after graduation, culminating in her leadership role at Ruggles Mabe Studio, later known as Ruggles Lindeman Bell. Her strategic insights and robust management skills were critical in steering the firm toward achieving its objectives and exceeding industry expectations.

Melissa has received numerous accolades for her architectural work, including being named one of the “Top 20 under 40” by ENR Mountain States and a “Top Newsmaker among Architects” by the Denver Business Journal. She was also a finalist in the Denver Business Journal's “Outstanding Woman in Business” awards, further solidifying her reputation in the field.

Melissa is dedicated to her lavender farming business, Tres Lavender, where she applies her architectural skills to cultivating and producing lavender. This demonstrates her adaptability and innovative spirit in a completely different field.

In addition to her professional endeavors, Melissa Mabe is actively involved in charitable activities, including significant support for “Rise Against Suicide,” reflecting her deep commitment to addressing critical social issues. Her charitable work extends to supporting the Erie lacrosse team and Young Life, demonstrating her ongoing commitment to community development and youth empowerment.
