Summary

Logan Sugarman is an accomplished entrepreneur, investor, and builder, best known as the Founder and CEO of Refresh. This HR technology platform reshapes how organizations engage and support their employees. With over two decades of experience spanning Wall Street, climate technology, and enterprise software, he has focused on developing ventures that combine data, logistics, and human behavior to create lasting, measurable impact.

Founded in 2007, Refresh is a customizable all-in-one SuperApp designed to bring together every tool, benefit, and communication system used by global workforces, particularly frontline and deskless employees. The platform personalizes each employee’s experience by role, employment type, and location, ensuring access to the most relevant resources. Many corporations rely on hundreds of tools, with HR teams adding several new ones every month—creating inefficiencies that cost more than $100 billion in management time, deprive employees of $400 billion in value, and result in $50 billion in missed vendor revenue. Under his leadership, Refresh has become a trusted partner for Fortune 500 companies, major unions, and nonprofits, offering over 3,000 integrations across HR, payroll, and learning systems.

In 2025, SHRM selected Refresh as one of only three companies out of more than 500 applicants for its Accelerator Program and made a strategic investment, recognizing the platform’s critical role in advancing employee engagement and workplace wellness. The company has also been honored by Accenture’s Global HR Technology Challenge and formed partnerships with HUB International and UKG.

He is also the Co-Founder of Triangle Digital, Inc., a company linking big data with financial assets to support climate resilience. The firm received Environmental Finance’s 2025 Innovation of the Year in Carbon Markets and recognition from Brazil’s Central Bank for its Blended Finance initiative.

As Co-Founder and CIO of Balcony Partners, an SEC-registered investment advisory firm managing $100 million in assets, he focuses on quantitative strategies and clean energy investments. He also sponsors two Nasdaq-listed SPACs, GSR III and GSR IV.

An active investor with more than 100 angel investments, he also advises several startups. A graduate of Johns Hopkins University with degrees in Economics and Psychology, he has been a CFA Charter Holder since 2004.

Originally from Minnesota, Logan Sugarman now lives in New York with his wife and daughter, continuing to build innovative ventures that empower people and drive meaningful change.
