Partner and collaborate with President/CEO and senior leadership team to develop strategies focused on communicating, executing and achieving planned earnings, business objectives, and key performance indicators. Analyze financial results and identify risk and key drivers of significant variances to plan and forecasted results. Provide monthly and quarterly commentary focused on financial and operational drivers and develop action plans necessary to improve results. Manage the daily operations of the accounting, credit, finance and inventory control teams.

  • Prepare Annual Operating Plan (AOP) with focus on sales, gross profit, and expenses. Develop the necessary business objectives needed to achieve planned earnings. Exceeded planned earnings for 3 consecutive fiscal years, FY15 through FY17.
  • Forecast sales, gross margins, expenses, and earnings on a monthly basis. Proven accuracy rate of 96.5% FY17 and 98.4% FY18 comparing forecast versus actual results.
  • Ensure month-end, quarter-end and year close deadlines are met. Review and sign off on monthly P&L statements and reconciliations for GAAP compliance. Achieved a 100% compliance with financial close and reconciliation review deadlines for FY15 - FY17.
  • Oversee internal controls and risk assessment to ensure proper segregation of duties exist, test of controls, and compliance with Sarbanes-Oxley requirements, company policies and procedures. Risk assessments review all functional areas to include Accounting and Finance, Sales, Operations, Safety and DOT, Merchandising, Food Safety, Human Resources and IT.   • Manage high profile company audits requiring additional follow up reviews within a year. Responsible for follow-up reviews of two divisions to which both companies achieved favorable results by utilizing the initial audit report as a tool to decrease deficiencies.
