Summary
Before receiving my masters at Syracuse University’s Newhouse school, I spent two years working as a columnist for The Arkansas Traveler, an Arkansas-based arts and culture on-campus publication. The popularity of my column as well as others I’ve worked with while writing for this publication was solely based on my ability to push and market these pieces via phone, email, and social media.
While interning at Esquire, I was able to research and present analytical reports during pitch/concept meeting, build relationships between the publication and fashion brands via phone and email, and also develop analytics-based strategies to add efficiency to the department’s social media/public relations presence.
Throughout my work experience I’ve honed strong managerial skills, strong organizational skills, an attention to detail and an ability to multitask in high pace environments.
As Managing Editor at VaynerMedia I captained day-to-day content, working with the editorial team to act as a litmus test for the site, ensuring the voice and sensibility is laser-focused. In this role, I work as an evangelist for both the digital brands style guide and mission, indoctrinating staff and contributors in the broader and finer points of the publications tone. I’m also responsible for the production and workflow of the magazine, ensuring the timely publishing of content, managing the editorial budget, working with the Ad Services Director, and overseeing the Production and Analytics departments.
One of my biggest goals is to consistently make an effort to be a collaborative and experienced editor who makes the daily work of everyone around them better.
