JOYCE COBOS
Business Consultant
Summary
Born in Miami, I was raised bilingual in both English and Spanish. While in high school, I studied Italian and French for two years. I studied at the University of Miami before heading off to study Political Science in London. While there, I gained international experience and traveled all over Europe and the Middle East. I am a member of UNA-USA and attended conferences with the United Nations and the OECD.
After completing my studies, I have been teaching English as a second language for students of all ages in Hungary and Slovakia, and in Italy. With everyone I work with, I like to get to know them individually as a whole person and work amongst their interests. I have experience in coaching, training, and interpretation services. My services have guided companies within Europe to expand in America and has involved international cooperation.
Since graduating from high school, I have been an advocate for equal access to education for all. With the help of the Obama-Biden Administration, I helped Florida prisoners gain access to modern technologies such as, tablets, email, and video visitations. I have also worked with the Miami-Dade County Commissioner’s Office to give university and college student’s easier access to the Metro Transportation Card. I incorporate my knowledge within international projects that have been implemented in serving the importance of education. We should not teach our students to learn for an exam. This is not the way to allow creative minds to flourish. Every student should have equal access to quality, transparent education that allows them to be prepared for the real world.
