Summary
Jonathan Cestero is a graduate of the University of South Florida with a Bachelors degree in Music Studies/Performance and a Masters degree in Jazz Studies under the direction of six time Grammy nominated composer Professor Chuck Owens (The Jazz Surge) and Director of Jazz Studies Professor Jack Wilkins. Jonathan has also had the distinct pleasure of being part of the traveling group known as the USF Jazztet performing at some of the worlds most prestigious jazz festivals around the world such as the Umbria Jazz Festival (Italy), the Dusseldorf Jazz Festival (Germany), Edinburgh and Birmingham Jazz Festival (Scotland), and the Jazz A Vienne (France). Mr. Cestero also has had the pleasure working with students from other schools and Universities, such as the University of Barranquilla, The Northampton School for Boys and with high school music students on a United States military base in Stuttgart, Germany.
Having been a touring musician for over 20 years, Cestero has been the distinct pleasure of performing with acts from mainstream pop/reggae acts such as Goldfinger and Slightly Stoopid to jazz icons like The Tommy Dorsey Orchestra, Jimmy Dorsey Orchestra, Cab Calloway Orchestra, Trumpet extraordinaire Mark Zauss and Michael Buble.
