Summary

Jim Seebock is a City Councilman in Henderson, Nevada, where he has served for the past three years. He works alongside the mayor and fellow council members to address policies and community matters affecting Nevada’s second-largest city, including the historic Water District. Henderson is recognized as one of the safest and most respected places to live in the country. He also represents the city through the Regional Transportation Commission, the Regional Flood Control Board, and the Southern Nevada Regional Housing Authority.

Before serving on the council, Jim spent more than 30 years with the Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department. During his career, he worked in several assignments, including Patrol Officer, Narcotics Detective, K9 Handler, Patrol Sergeant, K9 Sergeant, Patrol Lieutenant, Counterterrorism Lieutenant, Captain, Deputy Chief, and Assistant Sheriff. In 2022, he was promoted to Assistant Sheriff, taking responsibility for overseeing all uniformed officers across the department.

Councilman Jim Seebock's law enforcement experience included managing public safety operations, officer training, tactical response teams, and counterterrorism initiatives. He supervised training for approximately 5,000 department members and coordinated efforts with local, state, and federal agencies. During major emergencies, including the October 1, 2017, Las Vegas mass shooting, he was selected to lead the Department Operations Center responsible for coordinating emergency response activities.

Throughout Jim's years of service, he earned the Unit Medal of Valor, multiple Meritorious Service Medals, and the Community Service Award. He retired from law enforcement in July 2023 after decades of public service.

While continuing Seebock's law enforcement work, he earned degrees in Criminal Justice, Public Administration, and Security Studies. He also completed advanced Nevada POST certifications, leadership development programs, and specialized investigative training.

Jim Seebock, Councilman, moved to Henderson with his family in 1986 and attended local schools before graduating from high school. After losing his father during his teenage years, he helped support his family while his mother worked two jobs. He later married his high school sweetheart, and they became parents to twins through embryo adoption. He remains involved in church service, volunteer youth coaching, local boards, and charitable activities throughout the Henderson community.
