Jem's career began in athletic training as an intern with the Cleveland Indians in Winter Haven, Florida, after earning his Bachelor’s in Athletic Training from Appalachian State University. During this internship, he assisted in rehabilitating and treating injuries for players in both minor and major leagues. After completing his internship, he became a Graduate Assistant Athletic Trainer at the University of Central Florida, where he earned a Master of Arts in Exercise Physiology.
In 2000, Sirrine worked as an Assistant Athletic Trainer at Winter Park High School, where he coordinated with the Head Athletic Trainer to provide coverage for all varsity and junior varsity sports. His duties included pre-practice treatments, supervising athletic training interns, and teaching Personal Health, Fitness, and Team Sports courses. He then moved to Warner University in Lake Wales, Florida, where he served as the Head Athletic Trainer. In this position, he managed 16 varsity sports, oversaw the department’s budget, and worked with orthopedic surgeons to expand the Sports Medicine team. He also taught courses in Athletic Training, First Aid, and CPR.
Jem’s next role took him to Bond Clinic in Winter Haven, where he helped develop the orthopedic department, forming relationships within the community and establishing partnerships with local schools. He also provided athletic training services, performed patient evaluations, and managed insurance billing for the Physical Therapy Department.
After 11 years as head athletic trainer at Southeastern University in Lakeland, Florida, Sirrine transitioned to his current role at FedEx Logistics. At FedEx, he ensures that all shipments meet government regulations, addresses delays, and trains new agents to help improve overall efficiency.
