Responsible for the overall management and direction of the Manufacturing department including oversight of Production, Manufacturing Operations & Coordination and Manufacturing Engineering. Responsible for adherence to and maintaining cGMP compliance in facilities, equipment and production. Lead the manufacturing team in transfers from R&D to manufacturing process of pre-clinical/early stage solid dosage products through clinical distribution. Will work with executive staff to develop execute both departmental and company wide strategy for growth.

Responsible for the management of research and development activities to include pre-formulation, formulation development, Process Development, and drug product packaging. Managed projects from various stages through clinical manufacturing. Evaluated processes to ensure the quality of clinical supplies for multiple clients. Work directly with clients to maintain good client relationships and continued business growth with additional projects.

Responsible for developing and improving chemical formulations for consumer products. Primary focus is on developing specialty paint and texture coatings, household surface care products and odor elimination products in both liquid and aerosol form. Activities range from raw material chemical selection, formulation, testing, documentation and assistance in scale-up. As a formulation steward for a group of formulations, this position filled role as a primary resource for technical production and use issues.

• Researches new chemical solutions and chemical technology
• Develops and maintains relationships with vendor resources to provide inflow of new technology to the company
• Responsible for developing new formulations working from marketing objectives to arrive at competitive new product solutions
• Develop aerosol formulations including formulating chemical blends and may specify propellant, can, valve, and hardware components
• Responsible for coordinating 3rd party testing on such dimensions as flammability, corrosion, efficacy, and mold/fungal growth.
• Collaborates with other Chemists to co-develop formulas and products
• Provides support to Sales by attending sales presentations to act as technical expert and resource
• Works with product regulatory compliance manager to develop products considering current and future regulatory requirements

Conducted research and development of solid dosage forms for controlled release technologies, and conducted in vitro testing and analysis using skills in analytical technology and advanced instrumentation techniques. Expertise included product formulation with polymers and other pharmaceutical excipients, pharmaceutical process development, and overall project management. Supervision of 5 employees depending on project necessities. Using knowledge of solid dosage form and drug delivery experience to transfer technology from pre-clinical to clinical cGMP manufacturing. Constantly learned and mastered new skills in clinical dosage form manufacturing to bring the company to the next level of performance in being able to deliver great products to various pharmaceutical clients.

• Using statistical experimental design to develop robust formulations and manufacturing processes that are robust enough advanced to commercial manufacturing

Carried out research and development project to create products in the automotive, marine, and aviation industries. The products were developed for consumer markets as well as industrial business to business sales. Products ranged from consumer based cleaners and degreasers as well as surface restoration and protection. A major function of duties was to work closely with marketing and sales to help develop product positioning based on performance, as well as trained Sales staff on how to best use the products to insure effective sales presentations. Other duties included were direct presentations to buyers to demonstration of new products.
