• Program funded though DPH Mass Tobacco Control Program (MTCP) and headquartered in Somerville
• Worked in partnership with Mass Municipal Association to amend and upgrade outdated municipal Board of Health youth access and second hand smoke regulations for the 6 cities
• Attended Board of Health meetings to present proposed health regulation and ordinance changes
• Initiated and completed health policy changes to BOH Youth Access Tobacco Regulations in Somerville (FY2015), Cambridge (FY2015), (Chelsea (FY2014), Revere and Winthrop (FY2012) Everett (FY2010)
• Health policy changes also included Tobacco in Pharmacy Bans in Chelsea (FY2014), Revere (FY2012), Somerville (FY2011) and Everett (FY2010) with other cities in the collaborative to follow suit
• The Cambridge Youth Access Tobacco Regulations and Ordinances were completed in FY15
• Acted on behalf of the local Boards of Health as enforcement officer of local tobacco regulations
• Conducted regular, random and unannounced compliance checks and education inspections at permitted tobacco retailers in all 6 cities to ensure compliance with respective health regulations
• Issued 21D non-criminal citations to non-compliant retailers including appropriate follow-up procedures
• Managed and trained contractors to perform education visits and conduct state-funded surveys (pricing surveys, emerging tobacco products, advertising and product placement)
• Managed and trained youth (underage) buyers for tobacco compliance checks
• Oversaw and managed staff for the implementation and execution of the Community Transformation Grant
• Maintained a large volume of data for the 6 Cities Tobacco Control Collaborative in State RDMS database
