Jason Barakat

For over 25 years, Jason Barakat has built a career as a financial services leader, entrepreneur, visionary, and philanthropist. His work has spanned the financial, insurance, legal, and nonprofit sectors, guiding organizations through growth while ensuring communities benefit from these efforts. His journey reflects how business leadership can be combined with service to create a lasting impact.

Jason has established a strong record in talent development and strategic partnerships. He has overseen more than a thousand advisors and 60 leaders across Canada, guiding their professional development and mentoring them toward leadership. In addition, he has been instrumental in forming more than 200 business partnerships with associations, groups, and government institutions. These partnerships were designed to expand access to specialized, value-driven financial services for individuals, families, and organizations nationwide.

Blending leadership, innovation, and purpose, Ghassan has spent much of his career mentoring and recruiting. Hundreds of professionals have benefited from his support, many later stepping into leadership. His efforts have been recognized through awards for financial excellence, surpassing targets, and driving organizations to stronger profitability and operational efficiency. These results reflect his vision, disciplined approach, and the teamwork he consistently fosters.

Ghassan Barakat's career has been defined by his willingness to adapt and reinvent. He has worked as a consultant, developed new solutions, integrated performance philanthropy, explored the legal ecosystem, and directed acquisitions. His work has made legal-financial services more inclusive and widely available. His guiding principles, equity, creation of both economic and social value, democratization of financial opportunity, and the belief that financial knowledge and legal protection should be accessible to all, have shaped each step of his professional journey.

Jason has also demonstrated a rare ability to connect finance, law, technology, and philanthropy. From building multi-million-dollar platforms and launching startups to supporting charitable initiatives, Jason has consistently focused on creating sustainable systems that serve people long into the future.

In 2022, Ghassan founded Nolos Cabinet Multidisciplinaire Inc., where he continues to serve as Founder & CEO. Nolos was created as a Canadian company integrating FinTech, InsurTech, and LegalTech under a single platform. Its purpose is to democratize middle-class families' access to financial and legal services. The platform includes a Quebec-based legal firm, a notarial study, and a national financial MGA that distributes protection and wealth solutions from Canada’s leading institutions. Under Jason’s leadership, Nolos has expanded through acquisitions, innovation, and partnerships. These included the acquisition of Skylegal in 2022 and the creation of a charitable foundation in 2023 to expand access to justice and financial protection for families during estate and legacy planning. Most recently, he acquired a technology company that develops software for public and private institutions, strengthening the B2B capacity of the Nolos platform.

Before launching Nolos, Jason Barakat was a Strategic Senior Consultant, working with Chubb Insurance and other major institutions. From 2003 to 2021, he was President and Principal Officer with AMF of La Capitale Services Conseils. During his tenure, he oversaw asset growth under management from $300 million to over $3 billion, while designing services tailored to Quebec’s public sector employees. In 2017, he became President of La Capitale Financial Security, where he expanded national operations for disability and personal finance solutions, modernized compensation structures, and strengthened a culture of inclusion and advisory excellence. He also served as President of SSQ Financial Group Distribution, where he modernized retirement financial planning, supported post-merger integration, and enhanced client service, compliance, and profitability.

Philanthropy has been a constant in Jason’s life for over two decades. He has supported initiatives such as the Guignolet de Saint-Vincent de Paul and contributed to charitable efforts linked to education and retirement planning. In 2021, he partnered with Peartree Canada to expand philanthropic planning for families and organizations. Later, he founded the Nolos Foundation, which is dedicated to increasing access to Justice & Family Legacy Planning. He continues to give back by serving as a volunteer leader for nonprofit boards and engaging in interfaith humanitarian projects.

Ghassan studied at Concordia University's John Molson School of Business, specializing in finance, business law, and theology. He has also pursued advanced studies in securities, investments, estate planning, insurance, venture capital, and strategic philanthropy, earning certifications in these fields.
