Jakub Hejl

Jakub Hejl is a Czech American investor, real estate developer, entrepreneur, and philanthropist recognized for his broad influence in real estate and civic leadership. He is the founder and president of Westside Capital Group. This Miami-based real estate investment firm manages a multibillion-dollar portfolio of properties and land across the United States. Jakub also founded the Hejl Foundation, where he serves as Chairman, and he is Chairman of the Board of The Wolfsonian, a renowned Miami Beach museum and research center devoted to examining how art and design shape human experience.

Since launching Westside in 2017, Jakub has directed the company’s overall strategy, investment activity, and organizational growth. His career includes more than $4 billion in real estate transactions across the U.S. and Europe, encompassing acquisitions, development projects, financing structures, and complex deal execution. With a strong emphasis on multifamily, mixed-use, and data-driven investments, Westside has expanded into a wide range of markets under its leadership.

The firm also oversees an extensive development pipeline comprising entitled land at various stages, from pre-development through construction and stabilization. Beyond its real estate holdings, Westside invests in and operates companies within the real estate value chain and other industries. The firm continues to actively pursue acquisitions and development opportunities throughout the Southeastern, Mid-Atlantic, and Sunbelt regions.

Born on January 9, 1989, in Prague, Czech Republic, Jakub moved to the United States at 15 to pursue better educational opportunities. He attended the prestigious IMG Academy in Florida before enrolling at the University of Miami, where he graduated with Honors, earning a degree in Finance and Real Estate with a minor in Economics. His professional career began in real estate investment banking in New York City, and he went on to work for top firms such as DRA Advisors and Westbrook Partners, gaining invaluable experience before establishing Westside Capital Group in 2017.

Hejl’s leadership has driven the firm's success, particularly in large urban developments like the RoseArts District, a significant opportunity zone project in Orlando, Florida, and landmark high-rise acquisitions across the Southeastern U.S. His firm’s investments also extend into distressed asset opportunities, where he has successfully repositioned properties for growth. Beyond his business achievements, Hejl is deeply committed to philanthropy, supporting causes like pediatric cancer research through the Sebastian Strong Foundation and contributing to the University of Miami’s development.
