Summary

Jake Petrasch, officially known as Jake John Garrit Petrasch Jr., owns Valley Anglers, located in the Mad River Valley of Vermont. This enterprise provides guided fly fishing tours and a wide range of equipment, such as rods, wading gear, reels, packs, and bags, reflecting his deep passion for the sport. With over two decades of experience in education management, site coordination, and fly fishing, he also enjoys surfing, skateboarding, biking, hunting, and quality family time.

Petrasch's career is diverse, spanning roles such as a teacher, site coordinator, property manager, and logistics coordinator, which have all contributed to his versatile skill set. In 2005, he founded Valley Anglers LLC, combining his love for teaching and fly fishing by offering educational fishing experiences to clients of all skill levels.

In 2010, he began teaching at the Counseling Services of Addison County as a Head Teacher and Behavior Specialist, focusing on students removed from traditional school settings. He then joined Harwood Union High School in 2012 as a para educator, providing essential academic and emotional support, and later initiated a support program named Call Back. By 2014, he served as a site coordinator at Montpelier High School, managing the Outing Club and co-teaching a CrossFit program.

Since 2018, he has been a Head Landscaper and Property Manager at Integrated Property Services LLC, managing maintenance for numerous properties in the area.

Born on July 20, 1977, in Fort Worth, Texas, and adopted ten days later, he grew up spending summers in Nantucket, where he developed a lifelong love for outdoor activities. During his undergraduate studies, he met his wife, whom he married in Stowe, Vermont, in 2005.

Fly fishing is a central theme in Petrasch's life, closely linked to his journey toward sobriety, which began in 1999. This passion has taken him from the Adirondacks to the coastal waters of Belize. His hobbies extend to surfing, with frequent trips to York, Maine, especially during hurricane season.

Moreover, he has a strong interest in motorcycles, receiving a Harley Davidson from his wife in spring 2024, and maintains a tradition of hunting passed down from his ancestors.

Jake Petrasch also cherishes his time spent on the Maine Coast, known for its diverse wildlife and historic lighthouses, while maintaining a deep connection to Nantucket. Recently, he relocated to Williston, Vermont, for better educational and sports opportunities for his children.

His commitment to sobriety is publicly embraced, and he shares the lessons learned from his experiences openly. Petrasch's life is a testament to the motto "Hold Fast," which he applies in every aspect of his life, navigating challenges with steadfast determination.
