Associate Vice President for Enrollment & Student Success

Senior member on the leadership team for the College, providing leadership and strategic direction for student enrollment and success. Passionately identified, addressed, and rectified student, faculty, and institutional challenges. Ensured the delivery of effective and quality service to students by facilitating conferences, business networks, and social gatherings enriching student engagement and advisement to diverse scholars in higher education. Provided strategic vision and used research-driven data to advise on and make informed decisions. Created and implemented services and programs which enhanced awareness among the campus community about topics related to multicultural awareness. Contributed to efforts to increase recruitment and retention of diverse student populations. Researched best practices for serving underrepresented and diverse populations including international students, veterans, minorities, etc.

Intricate leader of College’s Student Affairs department. Successfully oversaw cultural programming for students and advised the Barton College Gospel Choir, Barton College Cheerleaders, and the Minority Student Association. Developed model programs for mentoring minority students in conjunction with participation in NCICU Model Minority Mentoring Committee. Contributed to projects for Student Conduct and Assessment for SACS (Southern Associations for Colleges and Schools). Provided insight on ways to enhance the college’s practices through the Institutional Review Board; Southern Region Board of National Pan-Hellenic Council; Honors Council; New Student Program, and the Retention Committee.

Successfully Supervised, assessed and enforced all functions of Residence Life that created a safe and engaging community for on-campus students. Effectively established goals and objectives for the development of residence hall programs. Assisted in recruitment, selection, training, and evaluation of resident assistants. Created procedural manuals, maintained records and other administrative aspects pertinent to Residence Life.

Performed inspections of rooms and all public areas, checking for cleanliness, condition of furniture, and other maintenance concerns.
