He served as Deputy Assistant to the President for Intergovernmental Affairs during the Clinton administration, managing relationships between the federal government and state governors. Before his time at the White House, he served as Deputy Chief of Protocol for the United States, overseeing high-profile diplomatic events and visits from foreign dignitaries.

In addition to his work in public service and business, DuVal is an accomplished author. He has written a book and a collection of opinion pieces focusing on higher education, public policy, and clean energy issues. He also continues to be active in his community, supporting various nonprofit organizations dedicated to improving the lives of others.

Fred DuVal earned a B.A. from Occidental College and a J.D. from Arizona State University College of Law. He was born in New Jersey and raised in Tucson, Arizona. An avid hiker, he has hiked the Grand Canyon every decade for the past five decades. He is married to a former director at Mayo Clinic, and they have two sons. His leadership and service have had a lasting impact on both his community and the nation.
