He later completed two necessary FDA clinical trials focused on COVID-19 therapeutics and has participated in several other FDA-regulated studies. His clinical expertise also covers female bioidentical hormone replacement therapy, male and female testosterone replacement therapy, outpatient opioid use disorder detoxification and treatment, and care for the vascular endothelium.

Beyond his medical practice, he enjoys food, wine, and international travel. He has also remained dedicated to mentoring medical students, physician assistant students, and nurse practitioner students. Since starting his healthcare career in 1999, he has prioritized patient care and future healthcare providers' training.

He is the founder and managing partner of Ballantyne Medical Associates, which opened in March 2007. The practice offers comprehensive primary care alongside aesthetic laser treatments, hormone therapy, and nutritional counseling. He maintains a patient-centered approach, ensuring clear communication and education throughout treatment.

Dr. Steven Bauer Ballantyne pursued his pre-medical education at North Carolina State University before earning his medical degree from the New York Institute of Technology. Following graduation, he completed his residency at Good Samaritan Hospital Medical Center in New York, where he was elected Chief Resident. He practiced for a decade in Long Island, balancing private practice, teaching, and serving as an HIV specialist.

He holds active GCP certification and is a principal investigator for several pharmaceutical companies, conducting FDA-approved clinical trials. He has developed clinical affiliation agreements with various educational institutions across the country. He is a member of the North Carolina Medical Society, the American College of Osteopathic Family Physicians, and the American Academy of Anti-Aging Medicine.

He has earned several awards, including honors from Charlotte Magazine, the Charlotte Observer, and other organizations. He is also certified to perform aesthetic laser procedures using advanced technology.

Dr. Steven Bauer Charlotte currently lives in Mecklenburg County with his wife, their two children, and their two Great Danes. They enjoy family life, travel, and nature.
