Denette Dunn is a dedicated sustainability expert and public speaker with a wealth of experience in public service and the private sector. She previously served as vice mayor and now represents the Pine District as a council member.
As a council member, Denette took the initiative to create the Pine Citizens Advisory Committee, a group designed to address the specific needs of her district. This committee has grown to over 100 members, including residents and public officials, demonstrating her ability to bring people together to improve the community.
Dunn has extensive experience in the private sector, having worked as the Municipal Services Manager for Republic Services. She managed over $85 million in municipal contracts across the southwest region during her tenure. Additionally, she served as a registered lobbyist, advocating for legislation to promote successful partnerships between municipalities and private companies.
Her leadership extends to numerous boards and commissions, including the WESTMARC Board and the Peoria Planning and Zoning Commission. She has also served as president and legislative liaison for the Arizona Recycling Coalition, which focused on advancing environmental initiatives and policies statewide.
Before entering public service, Denette Dunn worked in marketing, sales, and management roles. From 2007 to 2011, she was the marketing and community relations director at Hudson Baylor Corporation. In this role, she oversaw material recovery operations, handled public relations, and worked closely with municipal and state officials. She secured grants and sponsorships to support the company’s projects.
After her time at Hudson Baylor, Denette continued her work at Republic Services, where she helped manage contracts and contributed to the legislative process. Later, at Dickson Sweeping, she helped expand the company’s operations in Arizona and Nevada, overseeing projects like compressed natural gas fuel stations.
Since 2019, Denette Dunn has served as a Peoria Council member, working toward the growth and sustainability of her community. She also supports local charitable causes such as Hart Pantry, West Valley Connect, and You Matter Too, an anti-bullying organization.
