Designed and built the Cyber Defense organization focused on detecting and responding to cyber attacks globally for General Motors' enterprise IT systems, manufacturing facilities, and telecommunication systems for vehicles. Managed four (4) teams with roughly 40 employees dedicated to security monitoring, incident response, threat intelligence analysis, and security engineering.

Key Achievements:

  • Created new security capability to tackle detection and response for Fortune 10 company with 212,000 employees operating in 396 facilities.
  • Developed overall strategy and roadmaps to build security monitoring, incident response, threat intelligence, and security engineering functions globally.
  • Oversaw growth from a team of one to four teams with 24x7 operational capacity and advanced maturity.
  • Group deployed 100+ network sensors, collected 800TB of security event data, and employed SIEM, EDR, NSM, Netflow, and other critical security technology.
