Designed and built the Cyber Defense organization focused on detecting and responding to cyber attacks globally for General Motors' enterprise IT systems, manufacturing facilities, and telecommunication systems for vehicles. Managed four (4) teams with roughly 40 employees dedicated to security monitoring, incident response, threat intelligence analysis, and security engineering.

Key Achievements:

• Created new security capability to tackle detection and response for Fortune 10 company with 212,000 employees operating in 396 facilities.
• Developed overall strategy and roadmaps to build security monitoring, incident response, threat intelligence, and security engineering functions globally.
• Oversaw growth from a team of one to four teams with 24x7 operational capacity and advanced maturity.
• Group deployed 100+ network sensors, collected 800TB of security event data, and employed SIEM, EDR, NSM, Netflow, and other critical security technology.

Built consulting practice dedicated to helping customers build cyber security monitoring, threat intelligence, and incident response capabilities. Developed new product offerings, established PL for practice, and set strategic direction.

Provided outstanding customer service to global organizations seeking security information and event management (SIEM) consulting and security operation center (SOC) build outs. Built and managed three departments with 40+ delivery consultants involved with the people, process, and technology aspects of maturing SIEM and SOC solutions. Developed new product offerings, established financial projections for the practice, created marketing literature, and reduced delivery costs.

Key Achievements:

• Built high-growth operations of $12M in bookings, $8M in annual revenue, 30% GPM, and 12% net margins realizing 150% growth over three years.
• Created new revenue-generation solutions to expand the scope of Services beyond product installation and configuration.
• Matured operations to effectively: support pre-sales activities, manage engagement financials, develop consultant career paths, and collect a library of re-usable intellectual capital.

Taught graduate courses in network security for on-campus and distance-learning students. Worked with Interdisciplinary Telecommunication Program (ITP) to develop the Computer and Network Security certificate.

Key Achievements:

• Developed course curricula for TLEN5530: Applied Network Security and TLEN5540: Network Security Lab.
• Worked to ensure ITP department earned Information Assurance Courseware Evaluation (IACE) Program's Committee on National Security Systems (CNSS) National Training Standards for Information System Security Professionals and System Administrators certifications.

Led Operations team to analyze threat information among IT industry members, other ISACs, and the US Department of Homeland Security (DHS). Served as key advisor to the IT-ISAC Board in membership in all matters related to IT threats, information sharing, and operational analysis.

Key Achievements:

• Directed operational support of IT-ISAC, IT Sector Coordinating Council (IT-SCC), ISAC Council, and Industry Consortium for Advancement of Security on the Internet (ICASI).
• Created operational framework for in-depth research and analysis among IT-ISAC members.
• Drove down delivery costs by instituting standard operational processes to drive efficiency.
