Summary

Passionate creator interested in all levels of fashion design. Forever in pursuit of connecting sports, fashion, and culture through design. URI Graduate with a B.S in Textiles, Fashion Merchandising, and Design. My coursework was my introduction into garment construction, product development, & textile science; but it was my dedication outside the classroom where I spent countless hours gaining hands-on experience necessary to master each craft. I am confident that I would be a great addition to any design team bringing a diverse design background that includes:

-Familiarity of industry CAD programs(Adobe Photoshop & Illustrator, Lectra’s Diamino & Modaris Expert Pro, WeavePoint, and Kaledo Style)

-Understanding of materials & fibers that form textile products(Preforming AATCC and ASTM test methods to explore significant properties, yarn & fabric construction, dyes & finishes, sustainability, and performance)
-Preparing detailed technical packs
-Flat pattern creation and manipulation(Creative process of taking garments from design to pattern to finished product)
-Execution of fit sessions(Updating revisions to pattern, slopers, and tech packs to achieve proper fit)
-Ability to research, conceptualize, develop, & present a full fashion collection(Execution of styles, silhouettes, materials, and color pallets)

Over the past few years, I have had the opportunity to take on a diverse range of positions; each providing me invaluable experience that has prepared me for the next stage in my career. Most recently, I had the opportunity to take on the role of Assistant Designer at Peach, a women’s activewear and athleisure brand in the Boston area. Here I worked in an extremely fast-paced, start-up environment alongside both the Design Director and Senior Technical Designer; honing my design skillset while learning to react to an ever-changing environment. As part of their team, I actively created, organized, and updated design line sheets, tech packs, and technical flats. By utilizing Photoshop, Illustrator and Excel, I was able to accurately maintain all current design information for reference throughout the development cycle.

Prior to that, however, I spent time strengthening my understanding of the global market dynamics within the footwear and apparel space; working with a variety of athletic, lifestyle and luxury brands as part of Neiman Marcus’ Mens Sportswear Team. During my time here, I saw that consumer needs were not being met and independently prepared market research presentations for corporate buyers and vendors; identify relevant trends, consumer shopping behaviors, and local competition in order to revise product selections and increase sales. This awareness of the consumer landscape has allowed me to be more strategic in my approach to the design process; and if given the opportunity, would translate into the contribution of fresh, original and highly effective ideas.

My work experience paired with my design background has prepared me for a role within any design team. I am eager to take on a role where I am able to bring my creativity and overall enthusiasm for design to contribute to a design team’s success in reaching consumer, retailer, and company goals.
