In this role I oversee the Jacksonville, Florida campus. The campus consists of 2 facilities which are 735k sq. ft. (mezzanine included) and 375k sq. ft.

Logistics Manager (DC Manager)

As a Logistics Manager (DC Manager) I was responsible for planning and coordinating activities for 3 distribution centers, which consisted of 608,000 sq ft of warehouse space and 220 associates. I ensured we maintain a competitive service advantage by maintaining a high degree of accuracy and customer service at a minimal cost. In this role, I had full P&L responsibility for all facilities.

  • Served as Interim Operations Manager for 4 months in the absence of my manager. In this role I was the senior manager for the distribution center and I had full P&L responsibility for the distribution center, as well.
  • Managed Operations Supervisors in a multiple shift operation, which was a 300,000 sq. ft. facility. The operation consisted of 145 hourly associates and 5 salaried associates.
  • Reviewed costs and made recommendations to maintain and enhance profits of the distribution center.
  • Developed plans for efficient us of equipment, material, personnel, and resources to meet company goals and objectives.

Johns Manville - (A Berkshire Hathaway Company) / Cleburne, TX
  • Supervised shipping, receiving, and warehouse employees in a 300,000 sq. ft. facility.
  • There were 40 hourly associates at this facility.
  • In this facility the product was a combination of raw fiberglass and finished product (commercial insulation).
  • During my tenure the inventory accuracy greatly improved. The overall warehouse accuracy was 98.5% during the annual physical inventory. Additionally, there was an 8% decrease in labor spend, as well.
  • Ensured inventory accuracy, bin accuracy, and overall cleanliness of warehouse data.
  • Managed 3PL provider’s execution of warehousing and logistics for EPA, ensured adherence to contract.

  • Analyzed manpower needs and set schedules to control costs. This also included identifying process improvement and cost reduction strategies.
  • Communicated with other facilities and management to coordinate the movement of trailers and freight.
  • Dispatched 70 plus city drivers and line-haul drivers. Coordinated driver/equipment and delivery routes for pick-up/delivery of freight. This also entails the movement of freight from facility to facility.
  • Monitored a variety of operational data, including operations and safety reports, identify problems/trends, determine causes and resolve problems.
