The Blumberg Family Trust continued its strategic involvement in Anglo American’s operations well into the 21st century including playing a pivotal role in the restructuring of AngloGold Ashanti, a company originally spun off from Anglo American’s gold holdings. In 2020, the Trust acquired AngloGold’s remaining South African mining assets concluding AngloGold’s domestic operations and positioning the Trust at the forefront of strategic asset management in the sector.
