Alexis Gach
Musician and Manager
Summary
My name is Alexis Gach, and I am looking for a rewarding and challenging position in the music industry. I've been extremely lucky to have lived on both coasts and abroad, be surrounded by loving friends and family, and have had the opportunity to pursue an education in subjects that I am passionate about- music, and intercultural communication, a skill that applies across cultures of all kinds-- office cultures, gender cultures, generational cultures, musical... the list goes on and on.
A Los Angeles native, I decided to leave my home after high school and attend college in the heart of California's redwoods. In 2002, I completed an Interdisciplinary Bachelor's Degree from Humboldt State University in International Relations, with emphases in Intercultural Communication and Italian Language and Culture. After a couple of years in the workforce, I followed my first love of music and completed a four year post graduate diploma from the Berklee College of Music. With voice as my instrument, I studied Songwriting and Professional Music-- the latter being an area of study that required business, education, and pedagogy classes in addition to vocal technique and style, ear training, arranging, engineering, etc courses.
My musical and artistic outlets are jazz and cabaret singing. My professional career has included not just music education for both children and adults (cognitive, theoretical, pedagogical) and work in music supervision, licensure and copywriting, but also public relations, marketing, office and property management.
I am currently pursuing volunteer opportunities and mediation certification through the L.A. County Department of Consumer and Business Affairs, as I am extremely interested in, and have a talent for, constructive and peaceful dispute and conflict resolution.
