Responsibilities
• Solicit and evaluate show idea submissions and make recommendations as to those that are worthy of consideration for MSG
• Take meetings with producers, agents, production company reps and talent – both in to cultivate those relationships and to take/make specific pitches
• Work diligently to research and develop show ideas that originate from both internal sources and outside submissions
• Recommend deal points and structures in tandem with EVP Productions
• Work closely with creative teams to help develop and produce their visions for MSG in a fashion that is most fitting to our brands
• Supervise and guide projects and shows through all their attendant phases of development and production
• Solicit, gather, and assess prospective talent for various MSG Productions
• Conduct talent searches, organize submissions, and keep an updated talent list of emerging talent
• Work with executives to identify optimal talent choices and determine talent rates
• Support legal with insight on talent negotiations, contract development, and execution of talent deals
• Develop and maintain relationships with MSG Talent and work with Executive Producer and producers to provide regular feedback on performance
Qualifications
• 7+ years of experience in production development and talent negotiations/booking
• Several years’ experience working with agents and publicists
• Involvement in the development and management of financial budgets as pertains to creative elements.
• Proven ability to communicate effectively and establish + maintain production relationships with third parties
• Excellent creative writing abilities
• Interest in immersive production and technology
• Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously
• Excellent organizational and problem-solving skills
• Excellent communications skills
• Extraordinary people management skills
• Ability to endure stressful situations
• Negotiating experience with vendors and creatives
Education
Candidates who have completed 60 credits of college-level coursework (representing 2 years), or have shown similar self-development through certifications, trade school coursework, etc. are preferred.
