The Director of Golf will work with the facility’s management team and ownership to plan, organize, promote, and conduct golf instruction and player development programs to meet the needs for all golfer segments, (gender, age, skill level, etc). They will also help direct and administer all aspects of the operation and coordinate the property’s policies and procedures as defined by the property’s ownership and/or Billy Casper Golf.
Responsibilities include:
• Creates, promotes and directs all activities lessons at the Golf Center
• Maintains an attractive and orderly appearance in the facility
• Develops and administers instructional programs for all player segments
• Hires, trains, supervises and schedules golf and instructional staff
• Ensures consistent teaching philosophy is being administered
• Manages teaching and merchandise inventories
• Creates Open-to-buy plan for golf shop merchandise purchases and sales
• Directs and promotes golf operations safety program
• Supervises information requests regarding or pertaining but not limited to, lessons, golf reservations and instructional programs
• Manages and reports income and expenses weekly based on the annual plan
• Represents the facility in the community to generate positive relationships with school districts and local business community through promotional activities and programs
• Teaches summer camps as needed
• Provides golf instruction to private students and group participants as demand dictates and as needed
• Manages the office area to ensure effective telephone and mail communications
• Process customer reservations for guests of the golf course
• Assist in coordinating of individual, group, and tournament play as needed
• Provides customer service to arriving guests to help expedite check-in process
• Assists in reconciliation of cash and accounts receivable charges to daily register at closing of the day
• Oversee the care and maintenance of the property’s physical assets and facilities
• Provide assistance in management of pro-shop
• Ensuring standards by implementing course policies and procedures
• Perform other duties as assigned
Requirements
PGA or LPGA member preferred
A four-year college degree preferred
Must have 1-3 years of golf industry experience including instruction
Demonstrated ability to run a professional, efficient, high quality, service-oriented golf academy
Experienced in building and executing player development and instructional golf programs
Must have the ability to hire and develop a high-performing teaching staff
Proven ability to grow and engage in community activities
Highly polished interpersonal skills
Must possess excellent written and verbal communication skills
Must be highly organized, efficient and detail oriented
Must be proficient in the use of Microsoft Office
Must have a strong business aptitude and passion for the golf
