NORTH COUNTY REGION VOLLEYBALL
Executive Director
The Executive Director is the key management leader of North Country Region Volleyball. The Executive Director is responsible for overseeing the administration of facilities, programs and strategic planning for North Country Region and promotes its role as a volleyball resource serving members in its region. In addition, the Executive Director is responsible for organizing, and managing all financial records. The position reports directly to the Board of Directors.
Duties / Responsibilities
• Oversees the planning and development of all strategy and direction setting along with the board of directors and staff.
• Provides support services to the members of North Country Region (Junior Girls, Junior Boys, Adults, Officials) while accessing the growing demand for other divisions of volleyball including Sitting, Beach, High Performance, Coaching Education, and PVL (Professional Volleyball League).
• Supervises and collaborates with the NCR staff and routinely evaluates their performance.
• Reports to and works closely with the Board of Directors to seek their involvement in policy, staffing and governance decisions.
• Provides in a timely and accurate manner, all information necessary for the Board to function properly and make informed decisions.
• Reviews and executes all contracts on behalf of the Board of NCR.
• Serves as the primary liaison with USAV and other regional or national volleyball groups.
• Oversees and orchestrates all public relations efforts to ensure that NCR is always seen in a positive light.
• Represents NCR to all vendors and partners.
• Maintains an informed awareness of developments in rules and regulations in the sport of volleyball locally, regionally, nationally and internationally.
• Works with staff, members and vendors in developing events.
• Oversees background screening of all adults involved in NCR.
• Responsible for the fiscal integrity of NCR to include submission to the Board of proposed annual budget and financial statements.
• Establishes employment and administrative policies and procedures
• Oversees updates of NCR’s online presence.
• Other duties as assigned by the Board of Directors.
Qualifications
• Must exhibit transparent and high integrity leadership.
• Strong written and oral communication skills.
• Solid hands-on budget management skills, including budget preparation, analysis, decision-making and reporting.
• Strong organizational abilities including planning, delegating, program development and task facilitation.
• Possess the skills to work with and motivate staff, board members and other volunteers.
• Have a desire to get out of the office and build external relationships.
• Be a “self-starter” and goal driven.
• Demonstrated ability to oversee and collaborate with staff.
• Driven to serve our membership in a fair and just manner for the entire NCR region
• Ability to interface and engage diverse member groups.
• Working knowledge of current electronic technology
• A Bachelor’s (Masters preferable) degree and five or more years’ experience in volleyball and athletics, or 10 years nonprofit or business management experience.
