GENERAL RESPONSIBILITIES:Support The Citadel Brigadier Foundation’s primary mission to fundraise for athletic scholarships from alumni, businesses and friends of The Citadel. The Executive Director shall oversee the day to day operations of The Citadel Brigadier Foundation while fundraising, creating and implementing new ideas to improve and maintain TCBF.
REPORTS TO: TCBF Board of Directors
DIRECT REPORTS: Membership Coordinator and Administrative Assistant and Office Operations Coordinator
SPECIFIC DUTIES INCLUDE:
•Work closely with the TCBF Board ,The Citadel Athletic Department and TCF Vice President for Athletic Development to gain and utilize a comprehensive understanding of The Citadel’s athletic programs and fundraising priorities
•Identify, qualify, and solicit potential benefactors in support of The Citadel Brigadier Foundation and The Citadel’s athletic programs by matching The Citadel’s fundraising priorities and prospective donors’ interests
• Develop engagement, solicitation, and stewardship strategies to elicit major investments in the athletic programs
•Work collaboratively with The Citadel Athletic Department, The Citadel Foundation and The Citadel team members
•Ensure appropriate gift acknowledgement reports are prepared and stewardship activities conducted for benefactors supporting The Citadel
•Develop and maintain relationships with faculty, administrators, and staff associated with athletic programs and initiatives
•Grow Brigadier Foundation membership revenue, event revenue, and manage the expense budget
•Meet or exceed the annual commitment to The Citadel Athletic Department for athletic scholarships
•Ensure the Brigadier Foundation passes the annual financial audit without exceptions
•Travel extensively in the fulfillment of the above duties •Oversee fundraising events
•Other duties as assigned
•Attend sporting events
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
• Baccalaureate degree or higher from an accredited institution of higher education
• Demonstrated oral and written communication skills
• Ability to work effectively with other staff members and campus representatives
• The successful individual will be enthusiastic, able to handle the needs of a fast-paced office and the special needs of donors
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills, both written and verbal, as well as the flexibility to handle the needs of a fast-paced work environment and the special needs of donors
• Have a thorough understanding of the Brigadier Foundation’s balance sheet and income statement. Understand which financial levers can be pulled for financial success
• 3 – 5 years of management experience.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
• Successful work experience in a non-profit organization
• Three (3) years’ of successful experience in higher education fundraising
• Leadership management
• Experience with Blackbaud’s Raiser’s Edge
• An affinity with the overall mission of The Citadel.

Mission StatementThe Citadel Brigadier Foundation, Inc. has, as its primary purpose, to raise money from the private sector for athletic scholarships. Scholarship funds are sought from alumni, businesses and friends of the college.The Citadel Brigadier Foundation works on an annual budget, conducting fund raising efforts throughout South Carolina and in other areas of the United States each year. These yearly efforts are necessary for scholarship aid, since The Citadel Athletic Department does not receive any tax money whatsoever.The Citadel Brigadier Foundation’s foremost goal is to provide a base of professional fundraising services so as to fund all scholarships allowed by the NCAA.
