About Texas A&M University-Kingsville: Located on the Texas Tropical Trail in Kingsville, Texas, home of the King Ranch and Naval Air Station-Kingsville, Texas A&M University-Kingsville is a comprehensive, doctoral granting, residential university of 9,300 students. A member of the Lone Star Conference, the NCAA II Javelina Athletics Department includes 15 sport programs, 7 team National Championships, 55 individual National Champions, and is consistently recognized as a national leader in community engagement, game day environment, and home football attendance.
This position supports Texas A&M University-Kingsville’s long and proud athletic tradition by directing increased exposure for the athletics department through the news media, new media, and broadcasts.
Responsibilities include but are not limited to: strategically directing the athletics department’s media relations and communications; oversight and maintenance of the athletics website; developing media guides, game programs, press releases and supporting materials; compiling and distributing statistics and maintaining statistical archives; managing press areas and game day media relations; management, retention, and recruitment of full-time and student media relations staff members; coordination and management of radio, web streaming, photography, and in-game digital displays; liaison to the conference office; and, the production of videos and social media.
This position reports to the Vice President for Intercollegiate Athletics and Campus Recreation, serves as a member of the Vice President’s executive staff, and performs duties related to providing a consistent and continuing public relations program for the Department of Intercollegiate Athletics, primarily by maintaining a readily accessible, accurate and useful news and information service.

Education – Bachelor’s degree in applicable field.
Experience – Four years of experience in athletic administration.
