RESPONSIBILITIES
• Responsible for the administration of the strength and conditioning program for 22 intercollegiate teams.
• Responsible for the oversight, maintenance and safety of the Walsh Training Center.
• Supervise and evaluate the Assistant Strength and Conditioning staff.
• Communicate effectively and develop positive working relationships with head coaches, student-athletes, administrators and university vendors.
• Work in cooperation with coaches to identify team and individual goals and improve team performance.
• Provide expert strength training instruction and teaching, tailored to meet the needs of all student-athletes in an individual or team setting.
• Create a safe and positive environment for student-athletes to excel.
• Responsible for the scheduling and policy implementation for the Walsh Training Center.
• Responsible for keeping an open line of communication with medical training staff and coaches regarding the physical well-being and rehabilitation programs of student-athletes.
• Maintain an awareness of the current diet and nutritional needs of student-athletes.
• Ability to travel with athletic teams when required. The ability to work nights, weekends and holidays required.
• Work closely with the Senior Associate AD to ensure fiscal responsibility.
• Maintain compliance with all NCAA, Conference and University rules and regulations.
• Promote a positive image of Fordham University at all times and support fund-raising activities.
• Additional duties as assigned.
QUALIFICATIONS:
• Bachelor's degree required, Master's degree preferred. 3-5 years experience required, working in a collegiate strength and conditioning environment preferred.
• National Strength and Conditioning Association (NSCA) certification or Collegiate Strength and Conditioning Coach (CSCC) certification required. CPR and First Aid certification required.
• Proven success in all areas of strength and conditioning programming, Olympic style lifts, plyometrics, speed development, conditioning and flexibility.
